How Do I Participate?
You can participate in RoboFesta in two ways, either as an
event organiser or as a competitor (you may even want to do
both).
At first, we're looking for people keen to help organise the
events that will be staged mainly in 2004, along with a series of
'training events' in the years leading up to it. You can mail the
RoboFesta Committee members if you think you'd like to get
involved in this way.
As a potential competitor, the best thing for you to do is
start building some robots. There is plenty of information about
robots on the web, and several robot kits are starting to appear
in larger toyshops. You may also find our links
page useful.
Although the RoboFesta-UK Festival Year won't be until 2004,
we hope to see a range of preliminary 'training events' before
then. An open meetin held on November 1st at the Open
University campus in Milton Keynes discussed the future for
RoboFesta-UK. If you would like to know more about this meeting,
please visit the Inaugural
Open Meeting webpage. We hope to have a co-ordination meeting in Autumn 2003
for organisers planning robotics related events during 2003/4.
Competition Rules
One of the aims of the RoboFesta movement is to provide an
Olympics style event in which as wide a variety of robot
competitions are supported. This includes providing events
suitable for all ages and skill levels.
You can get some idea of the potential range of competitions
from the Japanese RoboFesta website (RoboFesta
competition rules).
