UK teams prepare for RoboCup 2006
Posted on Wednesday, April 12 @ 12:36:53 BST
Topic: Information about RobocupJunior UK
School and family robotics teams across the UK are busy preparing to compete in the RoboCupJunior world finals to be held in the Bremen Convention Center in mid June. RoboCup 2006 is being held in Germany at the same time as the FIFA World Cup, and will feature many of the world's leading robotics researchers and their robots. At least eight UK teams will be travelling to Bremen in June - several of whom have already booked their flights and accommodation.

In addition to the UK teams, students from Belvidere School and Bishop Challoner RC School in the West Midlands will be meeting up with fellow EU Comenius team-members from schools in Germany and Portugal to compete as multinational teams in the RoboSoccer 2-on-2 competition. Their scratch-built robots are rapidly taking shape at Belvidere School in Shrewsbury, Simpert-Kraemer-Gymnasium in Krumbach, Bavaria and Escola Profissional Gustave Eiffel in Amadora, Portugal.
