UK teams excel at RoboCup 2007

Eight RoboCupJunior teams represented the UK at RoboCup 2007, held at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, USA on 2-6 July. The teams participated in three competitions – RoboDance, RoboRescue and RoboSoccer.
Team "Swan Song" from Amberfield School and Farlingaye High School (Suffolk) came joint first in Secondary RoboDance. (Six members of the team were last year's Primary RoboDance world champions.) Teams "Jungle Run" from St. Pauls C of E Primary School (Warwickshire) and "Grease Lightning" from Tithe Farm Lower School (Bedfordshire) competed in Primary RoboDance.
Newcomers "Arnold" from Prenton High School for Girls (Wirral) came 5th (out of 30 teams) in Secondary RoboRescue. Team "3M" from Monks Walk School (Hertfordshire) also competed in Secondary RoboRescue. "The Longridge R Crew" from GYFW Longridge (Lancashire) competed in Primary RoboRescue.
Veteran team "Celiabots" from GYFW Longridge Consortium (Lancashire) made it through to the Primary RoboSoccer final. Team "CGGS Tech" from Calday Grange Grammar School (Wirral) competed in Secondary RoboSoccer.
RoboCup 2008 will be held in Suzhou, China. RoboCup 2009 will be held in Graz, Austria.
